Framing and perfect moments

I have really enjoyed the fall colors and the morning and evening light over the last few weeks. I have been out with my camera a lot just trying to capture the different beautiful things that mother nature has to show us. Some of these photos are reflections, some were seen and suggested by coworkers and some of them came from being in the right place at the right time. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I am continually amazed by the beauty in simple things

This was taken on a morning walk. The sunrise was really pretty and I saw it reflected in the window. This looked so much like a painting to me that I knew I had to get a picture ...

This is the same sunrise. I walked around a corner and there was the sun. It was definitely the perfect moment -- if I would have been a bit earlier or later I would have missed it ....

This is the same morning as the sunrise picture you just saw...I see cardinals all over campus and I've gotten to know their song very well. I climbed up some steps on my way to the library and looked up and this guy was singing . Luckily I still had my camera out so I could get this ..
The next few photos were inspired by some of my coworkers. They know I love fall and beautiful light and suggested pictures of the following spots.

My coworker Suzanne suggested that I get some pictures of the courtyard at the library -- the colorful branches and carpet of leaves makes it a really pretty and peaceful place in the fall. I decided to show it from the inside looking out. Luckily the windows are not too dirty...

This is the same courtyard just taken from a little further back and is a very realistic presentation of what we see from the steps by the window. I really love the way the framing sets it off ...
A little higher view -- the light in the trees was just so pretty

And here is a photo of the courtyard without the windows ...its definitely a pretty and peaceful place

This is looking out the revolving door of the library -- it is really tough to get without a lot of people -- I think if I take it again I will back up some more -- but still pretty cool. Suggested by my coworker Heather ....

This was taken at the duck pond -- I really liked this one because of the leaves coming down the fall and the bubbles in the water.. this is one of those timing photos :D

I really liked the light on this one and the layers of color are just so pretty ....

This is part of one of my favorite trees on campus.. I Included this one because of the patterns of the branches. Had to be at just the right spot to get them and the color of the leaves behind them ...

The library at night from a distance--I liked seeing it through the leaves and the clouds add some nice color ...

A side view of the library at night. I love the sign and the red bush and the way you can see the books through the windows -- the books is my favorite part ...
A spooky photo of the library at night -- the moon kept coming in and out of the clouds so I was really happy to capture it here
This is all about the color and the framing -- I was at the top of some stairs and pretty far back to get this beautiful tree in the middle of the photo ...

This was after a rain storm last week ... it was awesome how the droplets were pooled on the leaves and glowed ....

lots of fish in the pond they were swimming back and forth in lines ....

one of my favorite places to sit by the pond..I love the branches and the leaves .. and I went back today and most of the leaves had fallen making me even happier I had taken this photo

i had to move around quite a bit to get the leaves and the tree in the back lined up  but worth it ...

I saw the crescent moon peeking up over the building and moved so it appeared in the pocket -- love the shapes and the colors
later the same evening -- the color of the sky and all the lights in a line below the moon make this photo for me ..

I looked up and saw the moon reflected in the window -- I had to be in just the right spot to see it

The leaves were lit by a street lamp and I saw the moon in the gap -- I would like it better if the telephone poles were not there but I love the colors ...

This is looking down the street by my apartment. I like the yellow leaves and the grass on the left plus the sidewalk draws you down the road...

I like the way the colors of the clouds peaks between the tree branches in this one .. and the shapes of the branches adds to it...

I like this one for a lot of reasons -- there is reflection in the windows and the corner with the tree is very nice. I also like the contrast of the blue and yellow

this is a big wall of windows near the library. I really like how the tree is reflected in the windows and then the branch of the same tree stretches in front of it

this is looking out of the library window -- my favorite parts are the lamps

and one final view looking out -- we have a lot of similar windows in the library  -- this looks out the front on some of the beautiful red and orange trees across the street ..

Thanks as always for sharing my photos with me. I had a lot of fun trying to capture these different views of the fall and its colors. Its amazing how framing through or in a window can add to the photos.

Melissa and Frank 9-24

I was privileged to  photograph Melissa and Frank on their Wedding Day -- September 24th 2016. It was a small ceremony attended by family and friends and their daughter Savannah. I was honored to share their day with them and capture these special moments. I am sharing some of the highlights of the day.

Melissa getting ready -- and Savannah had to be a part of it :D

I was keeping an eye on Savannah for a few minutes and she stood up and posed for me. I love the smile on her face.

Frank and the minster waiting for Melissa to arrive

A wide view of the ceremony -- we liked this one because you can see the stained glass windows ...

And showing the cross ...

Melissa giving Frank his ring

You may kiss the bride :D

A crowd shot ...

Blessing them on their way

Family photos with the minister

with Melissa's parents

all the family members who were there ...

Melissa's family

Savannah looking lovely

Savannah was so good -- this is on the stairs ...

I love this one because they are by the wedding sign and you can see one or the pumpkins Melissa used to decorate ...

We had scoped this location out before hand. Luckily on that day the light and wind cooperated with us. Love how it turned out

This was just too cute not to share -- it speaks all about the love of this beautiful family ,,,

Another location we had looked at before hand -- I had to use a really wide angle and stand back but the church and sky behind them are awesome and luckily there were no cars at that moment :D

had to get at least one more kissing picture

This is in one of the archways on the steps of the church. The light behind them was so beautiful we had to get some pictures -- this is one of my favorite from the whole day :D

and again Savannah was a trouper -- for being 10 months old she was very patient and smiled a lot

Such a beautiful moment ...

and this one too -- captures the joy of the day ...

Loved the cake toppers ....

And feeding each other the cake --

they were so nice to each other ..

Thank you so much Melissa and Frank for sharing your special day with me. It was beautiful and I was happy to be able to capture and share these moments with you.

And thank you to my viewers and friends for always sharing my photos with me. I have been taking a lot of different and fun fall photos lately and will probably do a blog post with some of those soon..
