February Snowfall -- Part 2 -- evening

We had a really pretty snow fall on Thursday February 9th and it was a great day for picture taking. I shared some of the pictures I had taken in the morning on the way to work. In this installment of my blog I am sharing pictures I took on my walk home -- the sky and moon that evening where pretty awesome too. The pictures at the end are of the moon that night. I was in the cold for a few hours to get those but it was well worth it ...

The snow was still really pretty on the bushes after 5 pm

and reflected n the library windows

looking down the mall from the library steps -- the sky was pink

Old main seen through the snow covered trees

A side view of the library -- I loved the tree branches and the clouds, plus the snow covered sidewalk

I love sitting at these tables in the warm weather -- they look really pretty in the snow too

and a close up to give you an idea of how much snow we got

more snow on the branches

snow covering the bell by old main

a few of the early pictures of the moon -- I loved how it was glowing

I like this one because of all the different textures and the moon in the middle

more of the snow covered trees on the edge of campus

looking back at old main -- I love the snowy side walk leading back up - taken around 5:30 pm

really cool pink clouds in the sky

the snow covered trees were so beautiful

and another view of old main -- through the branches -- around 5:45

and you know I had to pass by the pond

the view from the bridge

from the far side

and a close up of the gazebo -- I loved seeing the snow covered branches through it

one of my favorite trees -- lit from behind -- love the shadows and the snow on the branches

and the pond seen from below where I usually sit

scenes from dusk -- the snow against the dusky sky was really pretty

and a wide view of the trees and the alumni center

this is near the ist overpass -- I loved the snow, the lights and the smoke from the tower

And last but not least all the photos of the moon and clouds as it got dark -- As I said I was frozen by the time I took my last picture but I got some really beautiful and spooky shots. I took a lot more than this but chose my favorites to share .. enjoy

Thanks as always for sharing my blog with me. There is so much beauty in the world and I love being able to capture it with my camera. I will be posting more soon

February Snowfall

On Wednesday night and Thursday morning we got several inches of heavy snow here in Central PA. It even caused Penn State to open that late. It was really pretty on the trees so I took advantage of my extra time on Wednesday to take a few pictures on my walk in to work .... I find the snow so pretty when it is falling and undisturbed  -- I'm sharing a few of my favorites

This is just an overall scene to show how much snow was clinging to the trees.

A covered pine tree -- to me always a pretty site

The snow was pretty heavy -- it coated the branches and hung over the fence

One of the streets near my apartment looking really pretty in the snow

More trees in the snow -- and again undisturbed-- love it

And another of the local streets -- so pretty and peaceful and even some blue sky ...

The blue sky above the snowy branches -- such a beautiful combination

A stone wall and fence combination -- there was a little snow falling when I took this and I love how the snow seemed to drip down the stone wall

A bunch of trees in the field.. you can see how heavy the snow was...

And I love to play with reflections -- this tree was so pretty by itself but I loved seeing the branches in the window next to it

We have so many pretty places on campus -- I loved this field with the row of trees and house peaking through

This shows that not many people were moving around on campus ... the way the snow was piled on the seats and wheels of the bikes caught my eye

One of the bigger fields on campus -- taken with the zoom -- so pretty

The snow was really coming down ...

This tree was so pretty I just had to get a picture

A wide shot of the street -- I was drawn to the trees on the left and the simple snow covered sidewalk

The piles of snow on the branches was beautiful

This made me feel like I was in the forest -- even though its on the edge of campus

A little bit of everything -- pretty trees and a bench -- a small cottage and then the industrial stack

The IST overpass -- again taken from a distance so you can see all the pretty snow covered hedges along the street

One of the sidewalks in the middle of campus -- its always so pretty here

And I wanted to get the lion shrine in the snow -- it usually does not stay snow covered for long and I thought it was so pretty peeking through the snow covered branches

And a close up of the lion with snow on his nose

Another pretty  place on campus ...

And  another close up of the snow covered branches ....

I hope you have enjoyed this peek into the snow covered campus. I love walking around and taking pictures of all the pretty spots we have. I also took more pictures of the snow and the moon last night so will be doing another post soon. Thanks as always for sharing my pictures with me
