Experimenting with weather

We've had some different and interesting weather this week. Monday was sunny and muggy, Wednesday was rainy and then hot. I decided to take the camera out on both days to see what I could find. Most of these are taken on or around campus with my 18-55mm zoom lens.

the first group is from Monday evening -- it was sunny and nice and loved the light

some simple daisies. I loved the light on them. I cropped the original a little to make the daisies fill the frame a little more

loved how the grass made the background on this one

liked the contrast of the brown nut and leaves against the gray sidewalk

the light through the leaves was awesome and I like how the nuts almost glow on the left

these roses were just so pretty and I loved the way the light hit the center

there was a huge patch of these little spirals -- they were fun

loved the texture and the color of these

some simple ferns in the shade -- I loved the purple up the center

more daisies -- there is a whole field of them, this is a small patch

and more of the overall field

the lion shrine peaking through the daisies -- got on the ground for this shot but love it

caught this on a group of leaves

these were so pretty and I used the short depth of field to create the fuzzy layers

tiger lilies -- my favorite -- loved the way these grew along the fence and how the bottom bloom just peeks in

Wednesday we had some torrential rain and then it got really sunny and muggy. I took most of these shots before all the water dried up

loved the drops on the leaves and how the light caught in them and the shadow the top leaf made

close up of 1 leaf and drop

the rain was so heavy it made this plant bend a bit -- loved how the drops were hanging off it

this one is all about the way the light brought out the texture of this plant -- it is really a rusty orangy color -- the light made it that much cooler

another tiger lily -- again love how the stems and grass just fade in the background giving it that real naturey feel

some cool mushrooms. The one in the middle really makes this shot, but loved how the tan ones framed it

not sure what kind of flowers these are going to be but I loved the way the drops were coming off the bottom one and the over all shape of the plant

this one is all about the light that is shining through these. they are part of a hedge and I loved the colors

these were in the shade so there were lots of droplets still and I love the different color comination

close up of another section of the same plants. I loved the purple on the leaves and how  the drops glisten in the sun

it got so warm so fast , it was actually steamy . I also loved the contrast between the yellow leaves and the pine tree

loved how the one piece of vine reached  out and curved above the rest

love the texture of the drops on the needles

these berries were tiny -- loved how they peaked through the leaves and so many different colors

more tiger lilies (can you tell I love them). This one was all about the curved petal with the drop on the bottom

the size and placement of the droplets drew me to this beauty

loved the shape that these made and also how the sun highlighted the different colors

loved how this clover was resting on the grass and so many droplets -- just loved it

this stem just reached out from the rest.  I loved how the light brightened the petals and the droplets

I just had to get one of these with the drop in the middle -- its almost perfect

the red on the end with the droplets in the middle caught my attention for this one

this one just seemed quaint to me with the flowers in the front and the leaves -- both relaxing and a little magical at the same time

the light on the big bud made me zoom in to get it

the water on the berries made them look waxy and cool

Thanks as always for sharing my photos with me. the practicing and posting will continue. Until next time .....
